One advantage of jury trials is that they provide a diverse perspective on the case, as jurors come from different backgrounds and experiences. This can lead to a more fair and balanced decision. Additionally, jury trials can help to legitimize the legal system in the eyes of the public, as it allows citizens to participate in the judicial process. However, a disadvantage of jury trials is that jurors may not always have a deep understanding of the law, which can lead to potential biases or misunderstandings. There is also the risk of jury nullification, where jurors may disregard the law and make a decision based on their own beliefs. Additionally, jury trials can be time-consuming and costly. **
